Paper People Purity

By Becca

Hello!
I've been meaning to share this video for a while now, but I'm just now getting around to it.
I made this at school for Contemporary Issues class, and it turned out pretty well if I do say so myself.

I cut a ton of paper, borrowed a tripod, rearranged my room, rigged some lights, took a lot of pictures and made this video.

The topic is physical purity.

I hope you guys like it, or, at least find it interesting :)

I'd love to hear what you think!

Nothing but the Truth

Oh dear, what delinquent bloggers we've been. And we have such good intentions too. But our time is overtaken by schoolwork and people; very important things, yes, but we haven't forgotten you all. :)

This is one of my presentations for Contemporary Issues class, addressing the subject of truth vs relativism. I just got my grade on it tonight (a 98!), and am excited to share it with you.

note: I'm not very fond of the title, I just had to come up with something quick before turning it in, so if something better comes to your mind while reading it, please share!

One Lovely Blog Tag

Well, we've been tagged, twice in fact, and it's about time we did another post. Sorry we're so sporadic about this. But to make it up to you, we're going to do facts about these past couple weeks we've been AWOL.

So, thank you, Keturah and Clara, and away we go!

Unwanted

This is a short story I wrote as a presentation paper for Contemporary Issues class, on the issue of abortion, and the sanctity of life.
I haven't gotten a grade back on it yet, but our Teacher, Mr. Hornick, said he really liked it!
So I'm sharing it with you, hope you enjoy.

When God edits your schedule...

With some free time Becca and I have recently acquired (more on that below), we thought it would be fun to do a fall outfit photoshoot, as the weather has been getting chillier.

I'm So Happy! (Here's the Reason Why)

Becca and I are pretty happy to be back at school, but that title refers to the song we're going to share with you guys at the end.

Sorry we've been lapse in posting. Hopefully as we settle into our school schedule, we will get better at posting more regularly.

So, how have we been?

We've been good! One of the things we were most excited about coming back to school, was that we get to share a room this semester! Yippee!

Would you like a tour?

E.O.A

By Becca

This is the last post I'll write at home, at least for a while now. This weekend Beth and I will be heading back to school. I still can't quite believe it, even though my suitcase is packed and the plans have been made... the summer seemed to whirl by faster than any before.
Is this what growing up feels like?

Before we leave home and get swept back into the world of structured education, we thought we ought to share a post with you; it might be a little while before we have time again.

So, here is another acronym.

B.A.F.N

By Becca

I actually had a different acronym I was going to post about, on encouragement, but that's not what has been heavy on my heart today.
So I am going to share B.A.F.N with you guys instead.

L.L.A

Our world is getting darker everyday. Lines between right and wrong are blurring to shades of grey, and the Biblical truths we hold on to as Christians look stranger and stranger to society.

But this world is not our home, our citizenship is in heaven.

"There were never such devoted sisters!"

For those of you intrigued by this gif we had at the end of one of our posts... :)

During the first few weeks of school, we found out that there would be a talent show in April, and some friends, who were also sisters, told us they had been thinking of doing the song "Sisters" from the classic movie "White Christmas". One of them wasn't so sure she wanted to do it, but if another pair of sisters were to join them...

We had sporadic practice sessions with their busy schedules, and since large feather fans aren't the easiest to find, we made some improvisations, but here is the finished result, kindly filmed by our father on his phone. :)

Last Week of School...

When we started this semester, we thought when we reached this week, our feelings would be expressed quite accurately by this song line:

Tuesday, April 21, 2015

B.I.

Are you ready for our next acronym?

Okay, here we go.

This principle comes from a few different verses, and though it's only two simple words; be intentional, it's a great reminder to be purposeful about everything you do.
 The other verses are:
Colossians 3:23
And whatever you do, do it heartily, as working for the Lord and not for men.

Hebrews 12:1-2
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which easily ensnares us, and let us run the race with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

You are probably still wondering what circumspectly even means. The definition says: thinking carefully about possible risks before doing or saying something.
Do we think carefully before doing or saying something? Everything we do effects the people around us.  If we coast along in our Christian walk, not doing anything particularly "bad" but not making a point to live for God, we are wasting the time and opportunities God has given us.

In conclusion:

Redeem the time
+
Work, as for the Lord
+
Run the race with endurance

= Be Intentional

T.E.T.C

By Becca
What is T.E.T.C?
(You're probably wondering)

And why is it written on that hand?

Photo-a-day || March 22-28

Yep, we crawled in there. :)

Sunday: After going to church, our uncle, aunt, and cousins took us hiking. While on our expedition, we explored a small abandoned gold mine, and Becca spotted these gorgeous pasque flowers. They are one of the first flowers to bloom in the Spring, and are usually pretty hard to find.

Spring Break 2015

Don't worry, we haven't fallen off the planet, we've only been on Spring Break!

Classes have been going swimmingly, but after midterms and special lectures, Becca and I were very thankful for a week to go home.

Besides seeing Mum and Dad, we also got to see lots of church family and friends, and do some other fun things.

Monday, amongst visiting people, we also visited...

"It's like mopping the floor with a goldfish!"

By Becca
Hello everyone!

Hi Mom!

The time seems to be flying by, I can't believe January is nearly over!

Saturday night the school went ice skating.  Well, probably not the whole school... but there were a lot of people!  Back home, Beth and I would go ice skating with our homeschool group.  They helped teach me how to skate and encouraged me to let go of the wall. :)

Here, things were a bit different.  The rink was a lot bigger then the one at home, and after a lap or two around the rink they turned the lights off!  That scared me at first. Then they had colored lights all blinking and dancing on the ice, and played 50's music over the loudspeakers.

We had a blast!

It was a bit tricky with so many people, but I didn't fall down...though there was a close call.

Near the end, there was so much shaved ice from the skating that you could make snow balls.
So we did.
College kids are so mature. :)

First Week of School

This morning's beautiful sunrise.

First off, we'd like to thank everyone so much for the prayers and encouragement we've had. Going off to Bible School was a big thing for Becca and me, but we knew it was going to be a great learning experience, despite the nervousness that comes before doing anything new.

"And the times, they are a changin' "

Look at that cute little castor.

The key word in that sentence is castor. As we said in our first post with this litter, we were expecting a mini Steve; an opal. However, as his fur began to grow in, we could see that this baby was brown, not grey.

We still love him. :)
