It's been quite some time since I've posted pictures just for fun.
Yesterday evening, my bike, my camera, and I, went exploring.
Even if you've lived in the same town all your life, there's no reason you still can't explore. :)
Gray and cloudy days somehow make the normal world more intriguing.
Wisps of fog softened the horizon, and the damp breezes curled my hair.
The lake was still holding onto it's blanket of ice. It was worn thin and slowly disintegrating, just a vast collection of ice cubes really.
A lone motorboat came by at one point, sending waves to the shore where I crouched. The water swelled and sank, but had an oddly solid look to it, with the mass of ice rising and falling as one.
The sound was beautiful. Mixed with the soft rushing of the water, was a light and musical clinking of the ice.
And sadly this is where my battery died.
I really ought to charge my camera before these little outings :)
Oh, but I wish I had my camera for the following discoveries. After I visited our lake, I went across the road and wandered into a evergreen tree-line which was larger and looked far more like a forest then I expected. When one lives in the prairie, forests are rare treasures :) I will need to visit there again, possibly for a photoshoot.
Then I took a path along the stubbled cornfield, and came upon a small herd of deer. That was really cool. Again, I wished I had my camera. Once they noticed me, six white tails shot up and they bounded away- much faster than I could run. Yes, I did try to catch up with them :)
Even just being outside, smelling the pine and hearing the blackbirds calling. Watching pairs of geese winging overhead and feeling the warm spring air... spring is coming once again!
Praise the Lord!
Beautimous scenery! How fun to go on a ramble.
ReplyDeleteIt's especially nice after being a bit cooped up over the winter! :)
DeleteWow, great.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThe lake looks so beautiful! I wish I could have heard it. The way you described it makes it sound so magical.
ReplyDeleteI love our little lake, it's a great destination for bike rides. The sound was similar to ice cubes clinking in a cup, just on a much larger scale :)
DeleteWow! Looks so fun!
ReplyDeleteThe other day I went on a short intense hike up a small hill. I spent most of the day up there reading and writing. It was great!
