"And the times, they are a changin' "

Look at that cute little castor.

The key word in that sentence is castor. As we said in our first post with this litter, we were expecting a mini Steve; an opal. However, as his fur began to grow in, we could see that this baby was brown, not grey.

We still love him. :)

All the other kits are black, like Mama.

After reading Watership Down, by Richard Adams, recommended to us by Abbey (thanks!), we knew we would have to have a litter named after the characters from that story, since it's about rabbits!

Meet Blackberry,

Blackavar,

Hyzenthlay,

and Hazel.

It actually worked out well that Hazel is brown instead of grey. That way he looks more like a wild bunny that lives on the Downs, like the character he's named for.

We are going to really miss these guys when they're gone, maybe more so then any other litter, because this will be our last one; for now at least.

This isn't just a break in raising rabbits for the winter. We have to find new homes for all our rabbits.

Steve went to live at our friend Emma's house, but Simon and Sarah Jane are still looking for new homes.
We have loved raising rabbits, so very much, and have learned a lot over these past 4, almost 5 years. But that season for us is ending, as a new adventure begins.

We're going to Bible school in January!

If you would have asked if either of us about going to college this time last year, our answer would have been a firm no.

It's not that we were completely against the idea, but certain things, like not wanting to go into debt, and pursuing a future career as a homemaker didn't seem fit with that.

Until this spring...

We knew of a small Bible school out west that some friends of ours went to. Some of our church family was also familiar with it, and one day after church, it was the subject of conversation.

It got our dad thinking, and he asked us, what would we think of going there just for a semester?

We were surprised. It was completely off our radar. We honestly didn't know what to think at first, but after much thought and prayer, we decided it would be a good thing.

First off, it was a Bible school. What's better then immersing yourself in the Bible for a semester to learn more about God's word? Becca and I could go together, and the price was very affordable.

The end of September, we had a chance to go out to the school for a weekend and see the campus. The area around it is beautiful, and it's in a small little town. It was great to see the school, go to a few classes, and meet some of the students there.

So in January, we're off to school.

It's going to be a big change for us, but it's a new adventure.

What does this mean for Clever Bunnies?

We hope to continue blogging, and sharing what we're doing, although the size of our projects will be diminished by living in a dorm room. :)

It's a nerve wracking thing, doing something for the first time, but the Lord is in control, and-
"The heart of man plans his way, but Lord establishes his steps." Proverbs 16:9

I know, Hyzenthlay, I'm going to miss you too.

    1. Thanks! Hmmm, tips... Well, if the rabbits are well tempered, it should go pretty easy. If you have any specific questions, we would be glad to try and help!
