Oh wait, there are!
Ten baby bunnies were born today. Three to Sarah Jane this morning, and seven to Rosie this afternoon.
We are very excited! We've never had seven kits in a litter before, and this is Sarah's first time (she did a wonderful job, by the way).
It was so neat, and I'm not sure why we haven't done this before, but for the past week, when we put our hands against the mamas' tummies, we could feel the babies moving around and kicking! We knew Rosie was going was going to have a big litter, but we can still hardly believe there are seven!
Small litters are common for first time mothers, so three is a great start for Sarah Jane. She worked on making a lovely little nest all week.

New mama.
She's stretching her legs, so her pose is kind of funny. :) |

How wonderful! It is always a great day when your little farming animals multiply your blessings! :) It so neat that you can feel babies move isn't it!? Life is so precious!
ReplyDeleteI love the names of the mamma rabbits by the way! :)

It is really amazing, and thanks!

ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteCongratulations
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteBUNNIES!!! How much fun to have ten of them! (Did you name the mums after Doctor Who companions?) When the babies are bigger you should take pictures 8-D
ReplyDeleteIt is very fun! I am not sure quite what we will do with them all when they start hopping out of the nest. :)
DeleteYes, Sarah Jane is, but we named Rosie before we started watching Doctor Who, so she is kind of a coincidence.
Pictures will be coming soon!
