Bridal Shower || Food!

We had one :P

And it was nice.

Here's where a lot of the ideas came from :)

We had some great food and decorations and games and guests! :) I had a lot of preparation pictures - but on the day of the shower I didn't take any pictures. Too busy :)

I'll share the recipes in today's post

Autumn Tea
5 individual tea bags
5 cups of boiling water
5 cups of unsweetened apple juice
2 cups of cranberry juice
1/2 cup of sugar
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/4 tsp. pump. pie spice
Steep tea for 8 min., discard tea bags, add rest of ingredients to tea, stir until sugar dissolved.
Serve warm or over ice or chilled.

We got this recipe from a friend at church.
I doubled this recipe for the shower - we served it chilled and it was wonderful!!

Now all the recipes I could find for London Fog were mostly single serving.
But the recipe is simple enough to just remember the basic guidelines and make a big batch. The morning of the shower I basically winged it... which mostly worked. I added too much milk and then threw more tea bags in to rescue the Earl Grey flavor. We served both this and the Chai with the option of topping with whipped cream ( I didn't have the fancy milk foaming device )

Both these scones were delicious!!! I think the Orange Cream ones were a little more popular at the shower though. We served them with Clotted cream and Raspberry jam. If you don't know what clotted cream is - don't let the name turn you off! It's lovely, and tastes like .... whipped cream butter.

We also served fruit salad, sorry, no recipe - just chop up fruit and toss 'em in a bowl! 😋
To round out the brunch we served an old family recipe - our favorite quiche tarts.

Quiche Tarts

1 8oz cream cheese ( softened )
5 slices of bacon cooked and crumbled
2 T milk
2 eggs
1/2 cup shredded cheese
2 T chopped green onion
1 10oz can of refrigerated flaky biscuit dough

Beat cream cheese, milk and eggs until smooth.
Stir in bacon, cheese and green onion. Set aside.

Each flakey biscuit can be separated into thirds.
Place circles of dough into muffin tins, press dough to form a cup. Fill with egg mixture.

Bake for 20 minutes at 375 or until golden brown.
Enjoy!!!
