Welcome 2015!

 

Ring in the New Year!

Well, not quite yet, but I don't know if I really want to wait until midnight to post this. I guess there is always next year to do it. ;)

 It's hard to believe how 2014 has flown by.

So much has happened, so much has changed.

There's been weddings and funerals of dear friends, joys and heartaches.

This spring marked the end of Becca's high school education, and this Monday was the last day of my job at our local library. We said goodbye to our rabbits and saw them off to new homes.

School is on the forefront of our minds, but after those first four months of the year are over, we have yet to see.   

What other things will 2015 will hold? Only God knows, and we trust He will reveal His plans with His perfect timing, as He always does.

Does it help to worry about any of this? Of course not, even though I have to keep reminding myself of this.

It does help, however, to remember this, wherever God has placed you at this time in your life:

Dreaming of a White Christmas.

Merry Christmas from the Monkees. :)

It's very rare that we don't have a white Christmas where we live, but this year things are looking a bit brown. After a recent heatwave, a heatwave for December, that is; our yard was even thinking of turning green again.

Love Has Come

For the past, oh, eight years or so, our church has hosted a ladies Christmas tea as an outreach to our community. Becca and I usually do special music for it, and over the years, we've done our favorite Christmas songs that share the message of Christ's birth without being your ordinary Christmas hymn.

Well, this year when it came to picking out a song, we just couldn't think of one we hadn't done before.

So, we asked for help from our family music professor, aka Grandpa, to give us some ideas.

He taught us this beautiful little song, and since Christmas is fast approaching, we'd like to share it with you!

Now, I did't do NaNoWriMo (congrats to all who did!), but I did finish my first draft of "Into Thornwood".

(What do you think of that title? It's new, just trying it on. Thoughts please!)

Even though Becca and I don't read much in the way of current YA fiction, we still have so much fun reading Cait's posts over at her old blog, The Notebook Sisters, and participating in her Beautiful People link-up.

Well, The Notebook Sisters has now changed to Paper Fury, and we're helping spread the word!
